‎A video currently making the rounds online has Nigerians laughing, arguing, and shaking their heads at the same time. In the clip, an FRSC officer confidently explains how responsive Nigeria’s emergency number 122 is, assuring viewers that help arrives swiftly once the line is dialed.

‎To prove the point, the TV presenter decided to test the system live on air. She picked up her phone, dialed 122… and boom “This number does not exist, please try again later.”

‎Awkward silence entered the studio.

Madam, Is Your Phone Android? 🤨

‎Just when viewers thought things couldn’t get funnier, the FRSC officer asked a now viral question:
‎“Is your phone Android?”

FRSC 122 not working

‎That single sentence turned the clip into instant comedy gold. Nigerians immediately ran wild with interpretations, jokes, and memes wondering when emergency response became phone brand selective.

‎Network Issues vs Real Life Experience

‎While many people found the situation hilarious, others stepped in to balance the narrative. Some Nigerians, especially commercial drivers and frequent highway users, shared personal experiences of dialing 122 and actually receiving fast emergency assistance from FRSC officers during accidents.

‎According to them, the issue isn’t that the line doesn’t work it’s Nigeria’s unreliable network that sometimes embarrasses even the best systems.

FRSC 122 not working

Comedy, Criticism, and a Serious Message

As usual, Nigerians turned the moment into premium banter, dragging the “Android vs iPhone” angle and mocking the idea of an emergency line failing at the exact moment it was being advertised.

‎Still, beneath the jokes, many agreed that Nigeria’s emergency services may have good intentions, but poor network infrastructure can easily ruin public trust especially during life-and-death situations.

‎A short but loud video currently making rounds on X shows a woman casually filming herself inside a free government bus in Abia State. Suddenly, one man starts singing:

‎“No matter what the devil does, you are going again…”

‎The whole bus joins in, turning public transport into a mini praise concert all in appreciation of Governor Alex Otti. According to the singers, “Alex Otti don try.” And honestly, the bus itself was already saying it.

Alex Otti free bus

‎Why Abians Are Happy

‎The bus in question is part of the Abia Green Shuttle, a pilot transport scheme launched in December 2025. The project introduced electric buses offering free intra-city rides across Umuahia and Aba for several weeks, tackling long-standing transport stress that residents have endured for decades.

Alex Otti free bus

‎For many Abians, this wasn’t just about free transport it felt like a rare moment where government action directly reduced daily suffering without drama.

‎Online Reactions: “Is This How Governance Is Supposed to Be?”

‎‎Reactions online quickly turned philosophical. Many Nigerians pointed out that good governance doesn’t need explanation, press conferences, or endless GDP charts. When life becomes easier, people feel it and sometimes, they sing it.

Alex Otti free bus

‎Others described the video as “healing”, especially coming from a state long associated with bad roads, neglect, and broken promises. The general sentiment? Nigerians aren’t hard to please just provide the basics and stop stressing the citizens.

Abia residents praise governor

But Of Course, Nigeria No Go Be Nigeria Without Small Wahala

‎Not everyone was smiling. A few users raised concerns about religious tones in public spaces, arguing that government services should remain neutral in a secular country. Still, even those critiques didn’t drown out the dominant mood: people were genuinely happy, and that alone felt unusual enough to go viral.

Abia residents praise governor

‎X Wahala Take

‎When citizens start praising leaders inside a public bus, you know something has shifted either expectations are low, or impact is finally visible.

‎In Abia’s case, one free bus ride did what years of political grammar could not: it convinced people, even briefly, that governance can actually work.

‎And yes… Nigerians will always sing when transport works. 🚍😂

An X post by  @turkishcentury has sparked serious online gbas-gbos after the account shared a collage of flags from mostly Muslim-majority countries, boldly declaring:
‎”Unity will make us unstoppable! ☪🪖💹

‎Among the flags? Nigeria. And that’s where peace officially ended 😭.

Nigeria flag pan-Islamic post

The post appeared to promote pan-Islamic unity across religion, military strength, and economic power, aligning with broader narratives around Turkish regional influence. But Nigerians saw their green-white-green flag and immediately said: “No be us.”

‎Why Nigerians Said “Count Us Out”

Nigerians wasted no time reminding everyone that Nigeria is not a mono-religious country. With an almost even split between Muslims and Christians, many felt the inclusion was misleading, provocative, and dangerously oversimplified.

‎Some pointed out that Nigeria is one of the few countries on earth ranked among the top five globally for both Muslim and Christian populations a delicate balance that already comes with enough internal tension. Adding Nigeria to a pan-Islamic political collage?
‎For many, that was doing too much.

Online Reactions: Sarcasm, Anger, and Premium Nigerian Humor

The replies quickly turned into a full-blown Nigerian intervention session. While some reactions were serious and emotional warning against religious extremism and forced identity, others came armed with sarcasm, jokes, and classic Nigerian bluntness.

Nigeria flag pan-Islamic post

‎Many users demanded Nigeria’s immediate removal from the image, with some suggesting that if anyone must be included, it should be clearly defined regions, not the entire country. Others joked about not signing up for foreign religious agendas, while a louder group rejected the post outright, calling it divisive and dangerous.

Nigeria flag pan-Islamic post

‎In short, Nigerians collectively agreed on one thing:
‎“You didn’t ask us first.”

‎You can unite economies, armies, and ideologies all you want—but once you casually drag Nigeria into a religious group chat expect chaos 😭.

A viral graph showing a 70% decline in software development roles since their peak has sparked major panic across tech circles.

Will AI replace programmers

I read through some of the comments on Josh post and gained insight that helped me draw a conclusion. But before we break into a digital riot, let’s understand what really caused this drop.

What might have caused the decline

During the pandemic, tech hiring exploded. Everyone needed an app, a website, or some sort of digital service.

Fast forward to 2024–2025, the rush is over, budgets are tighter, and the industry is adjusting. What we’re seeing is less of a collapse and more of a correction.

Will AI replace programmers

The AI scapegoat

With ChatGPT and AI tools getting smarter by the day, it’s easy to blame them for stealing dev jobs. Sure, AI can write and review code, but let’s not kid ourselves it can’t yet deal with weird client requests, messy old codebases, or office politics disguised as Jira tickets.

AI is an assistant not an assassin

The fear of AI completely replacing programmers is overblown. Right now, it’s a powerful assistant, not a full replacement.

The smart move? Learn to work with AI, not against it. Think of it like Iron Man with JARVIS, you’re still the hero, just enhanced.

The Bootcamp bubble and resume overload

Another factor? The surge of bootcamp grads and self-taught devs entering the field during the remote work era.

Great for ambition, but it also flooded the market with junior devs many of whom lacked real-world experience. Recruiters got overwhelmed, and quality started to matter more than quantity.

What is the future of coding?

It’s bright for the right kind of coder. Developers who can blend human creativity, problem solving, and AI tools will thrive.

Will AI replace programmers

It is no longer enough to “just know how to code.” You need to understand systems, people, and how to communicate ideas across both.

Conclusion: Evolve or be replaced (by the guy who knows AI)

AI is not killing programming it is  evolving it. The devs who win will be those who treat AI as a power-up, not a threat. Adapt, specialize, and stay curious. Your job’s not gone it’s just upgrading.

The King of Pop might have moonwalked into the afterlife years ago, but according to a viral post on X, he’s back just a bit rounder and possibly living in a more relaxed zip code.

A recent photo of a chubby man strikingly resembling Michael Jackson has set the internet ablaze.

The caption? Reincarnation is real, Michael Jackson is alive, But in CAPITAL LETTERS. And that was all it took for the timeline to lose its collective mind.

Michael Jackson lookalike viral photo

Clad in a shirt that boldly reads “Beggin for a Peggin,” with curly black hair and a serious MJ-ish face beat, the man looked like he just stepped out of the Thriller set, but swapped the moonwalk for a food court.

Commenters didn’t hold back. While some were confused, many found it hilarious. One user dubbed him “Michael Snackson,” another suggested that if he moonwalked, the Earth might just speed up rotation.

Michael Jackson lookalike viral photo

There were even people saying they genuinely thought it was MJ.

But let’s be honest if the King of Pop really did come back, he’d probably rock up in style. And judging by this man’s peaceful pose and laid-back aura, maybe MJ just wanted a second life with no drama and extra fries.

Whether it’s a joke, a cosplay, or a wild case of doppelgänger madness, one thing’s clear: the internet never misses a chance to mix chaos with comedy.

Elon Musk recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask a simple yet highly polarizing question:

“Be completely honest. What is better? Apple or Android?”

As expected, the responses flooded in, igniting a passionate discussion that has divided tech users for years.

The battle between Apple and Android is as old as the smartphone industry itself. While some users swear by the seamless experience of iPhones, others argue that Android devices offer superior flexibility and features.

The case for Android

Many Android enthusiasts argue that the ecosystem offers more freedom, better hardware variety, and customization options that Apple simply cannot match.

A Samsung Galaxy user even stated, “I have both, and the iPhone can’t compare to my Samsung Ultra 23. I will be replacing the iPhone with a Samsung soon.”

Android’s open-source nature allows manufacturers like Samsung, Motorola, and OnePlus to push boundaries in design, camera technology, and software innovation.

Features such as split-screen multitasking, higher refresh rate displays, and expandable storage have long been standard on Android devices while Apple has been slow to adopt similar capabilities.

Some users also pointed out that Android provides a more affordable range of options, making high-end technology accessible to a wider audience. One tweet summed it up perfectly:
“Apple: Better CEO salaries. Android: Better consumer pricing!”

The case for Apple

On the other side of the debate, Apple loyalists defended the brand’s polished ecosystem, superior software optimization, and unmatched security.

One user claimed, “Apple may not be as flashy, but it is built like a tank, and every feature is well thought out and implemented intentionally.”

The biggest selling points for Apple fans include the ease of use, seamless integration between Apple devices, and a longer lifespan with consistent software updates.

Privacy advocates also favor Apple, citing its strong stance against user data exploitation.

Despite lacking some of Android’s more advanced hardware features, iPhones continue to set industry standards, especially in performance efficiency and camera processing.

Some users even admitted that while Android may have certain advantages, the iPhone remains their device of choice because of its reliability and status symbol.

Which one is truly better?

The truth is, there is no definitive answer. Apple and Android cater to different types of users. If you prioritize customization, affordability, and cutting-edge hardware, Android is the way to go.

Apple vs Android comparison

But if you value security, a refined user experience, and seamless integration with other Apple products, then iPhone is unbeatable.

Elon Musk’s tweet once again proves that this debate isn’t going away anytime soon. Whether you’re team Apple or team Android, one thing is certain competition between the two giants keeps pushing the smartphone industry forward, and that benefits everyone.

So, which side are you on? Let us know your thoughts.

The post Unnecessary Debits? Nigerians react to bank charges appeared first on X Wahala.

]]>
In what has become an all-too-common complaint among Nigerian bank users, social media was set ablaze when a frustrated customer cried out over unexplained debits from his Zenith Bank account.

“Zenith Bank, please pity me nauuuu” quickly spiraled into a heated discussion, as many others joined in to share their experiences of alleged excessive charges, unexplained deductions, and what they believe to be outright extortion.

For one user, it wasn’t just a one-time incident. He shared a breakdown of how his account had been drained monthly through deductions he could barely explain.

The revelation sparked outrage, with many questioning how banks like Zenith consistently report trillions of naira in profit while their customers bleed money through hidden charges.

Some, disillusioned by the state of banking in Nigeria, expressed complete resignation. One frustrated user admitted he had given up not just on the banking system but on the entire country.

The sentiment resonated with many who feel trapped in an economy where financial institutions operate with little accountability.

The backlash wasn’t just directed at Zenith Bank alone—other banks, including GTBank, were called out for what many described as “broad daylight robbery.” I was also charged 500 Naira on my GTbank two days ago.

Customers wondered how banks could legally impose excessive charges and still make record breaking profits, with some joking that their account maintenance fees alone could fund a small business.

A particularly shocking case was that of a customer who was charged a staggering ₦78,000 for account maintenance. The sheer audacity of the charge left many speechless, with some vowing never to use Zenith Bank again.

Banks or Corporate Extortionists?

The frustration isn’t new. Year after year, Nigerian banks announce jaw-dropping profits, yet their customers continue to suffer from high transaction costs, arbitrary charges, and poor service delivery.

Many feel helpless, as regulatory bodies like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) rarely seem to intervene meaningfully.

With digital banking becoming the norm, complaints about deductions have only increased.

From stamp duty fees to inexplicable SMS charges, card maintenance fees, and VAT deductions, many customers feel that their hard-earned money is being siphoned off without proper justification.

What Can Customers Do?

While social media outrage shines a light on the problem, real solutions are scarce. Some customers suggest switching to fintech platforms that offer transparent banking services with fewer charges.

Others advocate for stronger regulatory oversight to curb excesses by traditional banks.

But for now, Nigerian bank users continue to endure what many see as an unfair financial system where their money never truly feels like their own.
