The bus in question is part of the Abia Green Shuttle, a pilot transport scheme launched in December 2025. The project introduced electric buses offering free intra-city rides across Umuahia and Aba for several weeks, tackling long-standing transport stress that residents have endured for decades.
For many Abians, this wasn’t just about free transport it felt like a rare moment where government action directly reduced daily suffering without drama.
